THERE IS NO

SUSTAINABILITY WITHOUT JUSTICE.

Our campaigns are always intersectional and inclusive.

As our campaigns move towards their objectives we are always focusing on how to provide economic and empowerment opportunities for marginalized people. Your donations are wealth redistribution!

ECONOMIC STABILITY: In 2020 Vital Actions created over 8000 days of paid work for locals in Southern Nicaragua’s struggling economy. This means an estimated 60 households of 4 were financially stabilized. The work opportunities that you help us create are always cruelty free and are planet and socially positive.

REFORESTATION CREW MEMERS!

VEGAN FOOD SHARE: We have a long history with mutual aid style food share. Several times a year we enact food and basic needs drives. We always maintain a focus on helping our friends and neighbors access healthy vegan foods. With your support we will develop our CASA REFUGIO center on The Collado Nature Reserve. At CASA REFUGIO we will operate a regular soup kitchen style food service.

COMMUNITY GARDEN: At CASA REFUGIO on The Collado Nature Reserve we have begun to cultivate organic fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants. The Dr. Jameth Sheridan Community Garden already has healthy, fresh food and medicine flowing into the town of Collado, Nicaragua.

THE DR. JAMETH SHERIDAN COMMUNITY GARDEN GIFTED 6 DOZEN TOMATOES AND CHILTOMA PEPPERS TO NEARBY HOUSEHOLDS EVERY DAY IN MARCH!

THE COLLADO HUMANITARIAN BANK COLLECTIVE: When you donate we are able to divert some of the funds and offer volunteer hours available to locals in Collado, Nicaragua. The campaign expenses that are offset by the volunteer’s efforts are put into a community bank. The volunteers form a collective and come together for a monthly meeting to hear reports, make proposals, and vote on guidelines and overall functionality of the community bank. The bank’s funds are available to anyone in town with medical or basic needs emergencies. An example: You donate $20 to plant trees. A local can volunteer on work needed and free up your $20 so that it can go into the bank. In the end the $20 is available to help someone with an emergency.

ADULT EDUCATION: We are currently offering reading and writing lessons to 3 of our employees on our sea turtle campaign. This was originally so that we could improve the quality of our data collection but we have fallen in love with seeing the personal empowerment that comes along with this initiate. We plan to expand on this and offer classes at The Collado Nature Reserve’s Casa Refugio.
