LAND RESCUE: THE COLLADO NATURE RESERVE

The Collado Nature Reserve is comprehensive action for permanently protecting habitat, rehabilitating damaged lands, and stimulating movement towards more environmentally positive community infrastructure.

This isn’t a proposal or plan. There is ACTION today! We have put approximately 200 acres of habitat in Southern Nicaragua into permanent protection and we will continue expanding. Strategic reforestation has been launched with 75,000 native tree planted in 5 years. Community involvement, healthy food share, and economic opportunities are a reality.

The nature reserve has a wide range of biodiversity and is home to endangered and threatened species. Our developing habitat protection and reforestation plans strive to encompass thousands of acres of absolute reserve land as well as wildlife migration corridor support.

This campaign, as with all Vital Actions campaigns, keeps focus on intersectionality, compassion, and community solidarity.

From clearcut to green space! This is a fly over of a section of the reserve where we planted 10,000 trees in 2020.
